Safe housing construction - Build better |

(Banda Aceh - NAD). Islamic Relief Indonesia has implemented one training for the village based construction workers, carpenters, designers from the date of 27 April to 01 May 2009. This is a part of activity of IR disaster preparedness programme. In total 27 persons among those 06 were female participated in this 05 days long residential training. Department of civil engineering of Syiah Kuala University conducted this training at their university campus. All those 27 participants came from 10 target villages of IR DRR progarmme in Aceh Besar and Aceh Jaya districts of Aceh province. |

Launched Health Campaign Against Dengue And Malaria |

(Banda Aceh). Banda Aceh district health office has launched health campaign against Dengue and Malaria on 26 April 2009 supported by Islamic Relief Indonesia in Kampung Laksana. This programme has been initiated by DHO and IR as a part of disaster preparedness activity of Islamic Relief. |

MAKING AN EVACUATION ROUTE, A SCHOOL- BASED ACTIVITY |

(Calang, NAD). Islamic Relief Indonesia, Calang office, DRR program, has succesfully conducted the school contingency activity, a school- based activity, exactly at SDN Panga Pasi, Panga subdistrict, Aceh Jaya district, on March 7, 2009. Only a trained students and teachers could join this activity while they should transferred their skill and knowledge to others for effectively time and place. There were some steps to be done before conducting the main activity, making an evacuation route. |
