Islamic Relief Indonesia (IRI) has successfully implemented the Ramadhan food distribution programme at all working areas covering West Java Province, Banten Province and NAD Province. It was the responsibility of IRI family to help some poor people in Indonesia to maintain their fasting with some good meals. 

One of family is happy receiving food packet - Aceh

More than 3,600 food packets has been distributed to the needy peoples such as poor families, orphans, women headed household and elderly. The project was funded by several IR partners including IR UK, IR Germany, IR Netherland, IR Italy and IR Mauritius. Team distributed the packets starting from August 27 and finished by 3rd September 2009. Each packet was packed by rice, noodle, mong bean, palm oil, milk and sugar. It is expected that food items have been provided for 10 days for each family.

IRI Sukabumi sub office has distributed 1,405 food packets to 1,405 poor households in 3 villages including Girijaya, Cipanengah, and Cisaat. IRI Banten sub office has distributed 1,480 food packets to 1,480 Households in 8 villages including Terumbu, Bendung, Masjid Priyayi, Baros, Sindang Mandi, Bakung, Curug and Mendung. While, IRI Aceh Office has distributed 740 food packets to 740 poor familie in 8 villages including Curek, Alue Tho, Alue Pande, Panton Krueng, Glee Putoh, Pulo Ie, Batee Meutudong and Dayah Baro.

Prior to distribution day, every beneficiary was given a coupon signed by their name and should be brought and shown to get the food packet. Although they had to queuing since early morning but smile on their face never faded. All IRI staffs, local communities, local Governments and volunteers were participated in this project. Their unique colors were united to dedicate the best works on this Ramadhan. Thank you for your sincerity may Allah blessing and showering you with His mercy and love.
