Islamic Relief Indonesia

Islamic Relief’s intervention in Indonesia was started in 2000, following the Asian Economic Crisis 1998. The economic meltdown has made Indonesia struggled to make living standards for a large portion of its population better. Acute water shortages, lack of economic incentives, poor education, internal conflicts, and a large number of natural disasters exacerbate the problem for much of the population.

Since then, it has grown and has been implementing a wide range of programmes on livelihood enhancement of extremely poor people, education, water and sanitation, income generation, orphan sponsorship, health and nutrition and emergency relief aiming at poverty reduction.

At present, Islamic Relief Indonesia is implementing its activities in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, Banten, Jakarta, West Java.
