On 29th September 2011 Islamic Relief Indonesia has signed the MOU with Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) for three years, from 2011 to 2014. This is third time that IRI signed MOU with this ministry; the first MOU was signed in 2003 for 5 years, the second one in 2008 for three years. The ceremony has been organized in conference room of MOHA in presence of Mr. Saut Situmorang; the head of Administration and foreign corporate, MOHA head of departments, Representatives of districts planning and development departments from Aceh and West Sumatera provinces, representative of central government (from 10 different ministries) and IRI senior staff. By signing this MOU IRI is now officially permitted to continue operating in Indonesia as a registered humanitarian and Relief organization. Signing MOU with Indonesia government is now one of the major challenges facing number of international NGO due to bureaucracy and new imposed policy.
